PMR-2A (Peace & Mines, Rising 2 Action) Youth Symposium

YMAAP Winnipeg is pleased to present the

Peace & Mines, Rising 2 Action Symposium
January 13th - 14th, 2005

Connect with the global campaign against landmines – join youth around the world fighting against this indiscriminate weapon.
Make connections with other issues you care about – landmines impact women and children, food sustainability, health care, and the environment. Did you know that landmines often kill endangered species like the silverback gorilla?
Learn concrete skills – find out how to engage the media, how to organize volunteers, and how to organize eye-catching events?
Make an impact on your community – Share your knowledge and skills back with the community at the Symposium.

High school students and recent high school graduates from across the prairies are invited to attend the Symposium. The Symposium is FREE and limited travel subsidies are available for out of town participants.

Hi Bequie,
this is Sophia.
I gave you a phone call earlier today and left you a message. Unfortunately, I'll have to say I'm not very good with voice mails and answering machines. I was overwhelmed after I hung up the phone thinking about the kind of impression I must've made. =)
Anyhow, another group member in TCI's global issues group apparently got a hold of you yesterday. One of our teacher advisors that attended the HIV/AIDS conference at the U of W. She said she enjoyed your session very much. Then I mentioned I got to talk to you for a short amount of time at the conference. We all came to the conclusion we were all talking about the same person. (You)
I suppose you can give us a call at Transcona Collegiate when you are back in your office as I said in my oh-so vague message.
Take care, and I hope you can join us at our dinner!

Here is some information I posted about the dinner in case you were wondering.
